Sedona Wesleyan Missions
Christ Center Wesleyan Church is a "Missions' Minded" Church. We support a number of missionaries both locally, nationally and globally. We put our "money where our mouth is" as well. When you give a tithe to Christ Center Wesleyan Church, we tithe on your tithe! What that means is that we take 10% of what comes in to our general offering every week and pass it on to the missionaries listed for support.
Scripture tells us:
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. (Mathew 28:19, NIV).
Come to a Meeting
Our Mission's Committee meets the first Thursday of the month at 11:00 AM in the Christ Center kitchen. Anyone interested in missions is welcome to join the meetings. We invite you to come and find out what we're all about.
Faith Promises Cards / Pledges
"...they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability..." II Corinthians 8:3
What does giving have to do with missions? Shouldn't that verse be in the stewardship column? God calls some people to leave everything that is familiar to them and go to a foreign land to preach the gospel. But God doesn't deliver their paycheck by Angel Express. He uses you and me to do the delivering.
When we give our tithes and offerings we are giving a percentage of our income. When our income grows our giving goes up accordingly, and if our income is reduced so is our giving. Tithes and offerings are what we give as we are able and are generally used to meet our church's operating expenses as well as missions, events, and outreach that our church has committed to. Missionaries rarely receive all of the financial support they need from churches. This is where we, as individuals, get to take the place of Angel Express.
When we make a Faith Promise, God can use us to provide everything the missionaries need to do His work. By faith we trust God to provide the needed money through us "even beyond our ability." By giving in faith we allow God to use us as a conduit for His work. He will pour the money through us if we are willing to give it.
Making faith promises, following through with them, and watching God provide blesses the missionaries we support, blesses the people they serve, but most of all blesses us as we are used as a catalyst for God's miracles.
