Our Wesleyan Beliefs
The Wesleyan Church is an Evangelical, Holiness Denomination with a rich heritage in American church history. If one thing could be singled out as a teaching of the Wesleyan Church, it would be that we are particularly optimistic about what the Holy Spirit can do in the life of the faithful believer. We teach that a victorious Christian life is possible for all believers through the experience of both forgiveness of sins and the fullness of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Wesleyans are Trinitarians. We believe in one God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in God's transforming power to change our hearts for His holy purposes. We believe that those who receive new life in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct, and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord's Spirit. We believe in the Bible and seek to establish our faith and actions on its teaching. We believe God wills for people everywhere to know Him and that the purpose of the Church is to tell the world about Christ through its worship, witness, and loving deeds.

What We Value
Biblical - Christ Center is an intentional community comprised of deeply committed people who have discovered that The Bible is nothing less than The Word of God. We are building our lives on the Authority, Reliability and Truth of God's Word and we are finding God's blessing and His guidance in the process.
Relevancy - We at Christ Center are passionate about creatively making the message of the Bible and mission of Jesus Christ accessible to the people of our local community and applicable to the challenges they currently face. Yes, the truths of the Bible were written in ancient times, but these truths are just as relevant to us today as they were back then.
Holiness - We at Christ Center look to Jesus Christ as our model and standard for the way we live. Because Jesus is fully Man as well as fully God, we are optimistic about our potential to live a holy life that resembles His. We are also optomistic about holy living because of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We believe that the work of the Holy Spirit empowers us to be different from those who have not yet experienced the Holy Spirit; our standard is higher. In this empowerment, we seek to be the hands and feet of the continuation of Christ's work in the world in real time.
Prayer / Healing - For us, prayer is essential to the life we live as the Body of Christ. We do it as a collective, and together in prayer we understand it to be the "Breath" of the Church and is meant to be a continuous practice like breathing is in our own bodies. Prayer is the practice of being present with God and "listening" to Him, as well as being in dialogue with God. In this dialogue, we ask Him to act powerfully in the midst of all the daily challenges we face individually, locally, corporately, nationally and beyond. You may recall, Jesus put it this way ~ "on earth as it is in heaven". As the Bible instructs ~ we "Pray without ceasing." Christ Center has regular times of intentional, corporate prayer (currently, we meet at 8 am on Monday mornings and at 6 pm on Wednesdays), but we are much more reliant on our members, supporters and attenders and their constant prayers throughout the day and night wherever they may be. As a consequence of our prayers, we believe in God's power to bring and release healing physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually. There are two goals in our healing ministry: 1. To demonstrate the power of the living God for His glory, and 2. To bless those who ask ~ with something that goes beyond and even contradicts the expectations of medical science.
Transformational - We believe that God is the beginning and end of all life's transformations. As a community we value recovery of all life's issues, habits, hang-ups and hurts both from our past and our present. We value the transformation of an individual and believe that it takes place in the environment of community and support of small groups and corporate services.
Community - We believe that life is meant to be lived and shared in community. Our doors are opened to everyone. Come and See, Connect, Grow, Learn, Share, Serve -Give Church a Second look!
